Travel Executive celebrates debut in Asia
It's never too late to say sorry... Would also be the beginning of today's article. I am begging pardon for not coming back earlier, being it my last time in Asia in 2009 - now 7 years ago. Not even the hotel market changed, even my personality got different and who is not in mood for discovering new luxury hotels, new places and cultures? Well, the only problem was that I fell in love with the amazing design of a particular hotel in Shanghai (yes and I am not the only one who shares this problem). Also Hong Kong has slightly changed. While it was the InterContinental who boasted the best views AND the most modern rooms in Kowloon, now the Peninsula got a total refurbishment and the Ritz Carlton catches the breath of EVERY discerning traveler, being the highest hotel in the world and putting Armani Dubai in shades.
So I told myself, it is time to visit Tokyo finally and decided to add two nights in Shanghai and two in bustling Hong Kong. After my trip, there will be for sure some exciting new reviews of following amazing properties:
1. Park Hyatt Shanghai - The most wonderful design hotel
Well, according to our Shanghai expert there might be better locations for a hotel but being it the Park Hyatt and being located in the also perfectly looking Shanghai World Finance Center, this property is definitely on my list of the "TOP 10 Places to Stay". VAST rooms, amazingly huge bathrooms, wenge wood everywhere paired with elegant grey fabrics - the design is of best taste, well at least it's by Tony Chi so it's not a big surprise. A wonderful indoor pool, excellent beds, great views of The Bund, high speed elevators and the location on floors 80-90 make the Park Hyatt Shanghai undoubtely unique. And the best: even the most discerning travel blogger out there (YHBU) and our expert for hotel chains Niklas are relying on this hotel as well, so another big plus to stay there.

2. InterContinental Hongkong - The best Business Hotel and the Hotel with the most wonderful views
When it comes to hotels in Hong Kong, I would never consider staying at Hong Kong Island - either would I get up 30 minutes earlier and take the Star Ferry over to island instead of staying there. So being the best positioned property, the InterContinental is no longer the only choice in Kowloon, however the Club InterContinental is one of the best Club Lounges I have ever seen. Michelin starred restaurants, heavenly beds, endless views of Hong Kong from the many Harbour View rooms (by the way the ONLY room category to book - beside a suite of course) AND the pools...! The vast outdoor pool might not be that impressive but the secluded infinity jacuzzi is the best spot to make new Instagram shots or updated Facebook profile pictures - it's simply unique in the world.

3. Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills
The new kid on the block and Hyatt's latest addition to the Tokyo market looks a little bit like a Park Hyatt version, however the service is predicted to be more cool and casual. No matter which area you are overlooking, you will always gather amazing views of an amazing city. While the rooms tend to be quite spacious, the bathrooms are indeed super enormous and feature an oversized bath tub and walk-in shower which is exactly what I like. With light and airy dining venues, a long indoor pool with hot tubs, state-of-the-art fitness center, this Andaz is definitely a one to remember.
