Dream now - Travel later? The Coronavirus Update

A summer at home or in the home country?

Life is a constant challenge. That's what you get to learn at the early ages already. However, never prepares one for such unforeseen events like the one we are facing now. If you had asked if anything will stop the tourism industry from one day to another, I would have said that such a situation will never happen. Anyways, Coronavirus is present, and even we are unable (we actually are not willing to stop the spread of the virus) to leave our homes.

How we manage the situation right now

This obviously means we cannot go to Italy for the weekend, can't board a plane again and are unable to inspect and test hotels. While it's a fantastic feeling to travel, I appreciate the time I can spend at home and enjoy the beauty of nature in front of my own house door. And it's a hard time, not being able to see your friends. However, we are lucky enough to have smartphones and internet access so we can use FaceTime and enjoy long talks. Still, as you know, it's not the same as the face-to-face encounter.

With our home country Austria slowly opening businesses again and getting slightly back to normal, we decided to follow up with you guys and post a few articles from our last travels. You might wonder why it has been so quiet around here. In fact, we have been travelling a lot to provide a wide array of reviews on Luxury Executive again. As far as our team concerns, I was supervising my first travel magazine in German, that has been published at the end of February. Lukas obtained the diploma for the sommelier and was directly awarded as one of the three best upcoming sommeliers 2019 in Germany. Felix is holding the position as Sous Chef at a Relais & Chateaux in Switzerland and Thomas is currently working on his Master Degree in IT & Communication.

Our plan on continuing

Of course, this blog lives with travel content and not being able to travel also means we can't deliver the same kind of content that we always have. Hotels and airlines hit hard by the virus, will have to set their priorities differently. But we won’t stop showcasing amazing places and do hope that our new topics and also new articles make you want to get away.

Travelling through bottles

That's why we decided to incorporate a new topic into our established luxury hotel platform: Wine! Lukas will be regularly writing about his experience with wine and will also showcase some of the best wines in all various price categories. There will even be reviews and winery presentations to get you familiar with the regions and grape varieties.

Read his first series of wine-based articles here!

Summer plan: Hitting the roads

Summer 2020 will see a considerable increase in demand for supporting the locals. This year's summer vacation won't be happening in Jamaica or Mauritius (as much as we wish) but nationally. Instead of planes and trains, we will have to choose our own wheels this year. That's why we will feature a unique road trip series that will allow you to plan holidays in your home country. Our hotel choices are based on our research and recommendations through friends and colleagues from the industry. Think of a route through Austria in medieval castles or a trip along with Germany's unknown wineries where you grab terrific bargains.

Go up, calm down - Austria has got plenty of activities to do. So does your country!
