Shocking Leading Hotel Experiences!
When you travel a lot and stay in many fascinating and upscale hotels, the number of disappointing experiences is also increasing anyhow. Not every hotel can be perfect, but if hotels are charging enormous prices, get a five star rating and are members of the Leading Hotels of the Worlds - it simply must be impeccable from the first welcome to the check-out.
Personally, I have lost the confidence to the "upper-luxe" Leading Hotels. It does simply mean nothing! It's all about money and paying the membership fee regularly. I had several problems in LHW properties around Europe, for example the worst experience was the San Domenico Palace in Taormina, now followed by my recent experience at the teen-unfriendly Borgo Egnazia and The Chedi Andermatt with the worst and rudest front desk staff - experienced during my stay in February 2014.
Of course this doesn't mean that all Leading Hotels are bad - NO WAY! But having stayed at 10 Leading Hotels and 3-4 did not meet my expectations, I am an upset costumer. A ratio of 30-40% is still unacceptable!
